The Athletic’s Rob Tanner discusses Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League.
Leicester’s relegation back to the Championship has been confirmed following a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Trent Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to fire home the winner as Liverpool, in stark contrast to Leicester’s fortunes, moved a step closer to the Premier League title.
The Foxes have been demoted from the top flight for the fifth time – only Norwich (6) and West Brom (5) have suffered more relegations.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have also become the first team in Premier League history to go nine consecutive home league games without scoring. They failed to land a single shot on target against Liverpool.
